The Shoe Pouchâ„¢ was designed by Grantwood Technology, LLC to allow runners and walkers to use the Nike+iPod Sport KitÂ®, which is an excellent product in our opinion (NOTE: the Nike+iPod Sport KitÂ® is sold separately). Included in this Sport Kit is a sensor that fits inside specially designed NikeÂ® shoes (called Nike+Â®), which cost around $100 USD. But what about people who currently wear other brands of athletic shoes, Should they be required to spend another $100 just to have the privilege of using this Sport Kit?

In a word...no.

When designing the Shoe Pouchâ„¢, our primary goal was to ensure a very snug fit. Not only does this minimize the risk of the sensor falling out while exercising, it also allows the sensor to transmit accurate data. Competing products use velcro to secure themselves, but a sensor enclosed in such products will tend to bounce up and down when your shoe strikes the ground, and this is what produces inaccurate data.

We took a different approach to securing the Shoe Pouchâ„¢ to the outside of your shoe:

You attach it through your shoelaces, not over and under them. We upgraded the loop design to be super strong nylon for extra durability

We use a stretchable fabric (neoprene) with a slit barely wide enough to enclose the sensor. You will definitely feel some resistance when inserting the sensor. For extra security we added a VelcroÂ® to cover the slit.

In case you're wondering, the Shoe Pouchâ„¢ logo symbolizes the sensor with the small dot at the bottom. The three bars represent a foot in action and the wireless signal emitting from the sensor. The oval surrounding the above represents the sensor and Shoe Pouchâ„¢ encompassing the entire process.
